Music is a central part of worship at Augustana. We are blessed with a number of talented people eager to share their gift of music with the congregation and community.

  • The Adult Choir provides special musical selections and leads the congregation in worship from September-May and at other services on special occasions. Practices are regularly held Wednesdays at 6:30 pm. Jill Molls is the Director.

  • The Augustana Contemporary Music Group leads worship each week at the 2nd service, which is a contemporary worship service. This group includes keyboard, piano, lead guitar, bass guitar, percussion and singers. Rehearsals are held Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. September-May and at 6:15 p.m. Wednesday night during the summer.

Bible Study/Fellowship on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 9:30 a.m.
Quilting each Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.

Augustana women are very involved in community and global ministries. Many quilts are made during the year to send to Lutheran World Relief. The entire congregation contributes to the other Parish Projects, which include layettes, school kits, health kits, sewing kits, midwife kits, bandages, bags for hospitalized children, cans for car seat programs, and the community food pantry.

The Augustana Lutheran Church Library is open to all. The library seeks to provide material that will increase our knowledge of Faith, Social and Economic Issues, Enrich our Worship Life, and Deepen our Relationship with Jesus Christ.

Adults and Children of all ages are invited to investigate the library. We have quite a number of books on our shelves and all age groups are sure to find something to enjoy. Non-fiction can be found on the north and east walls, with fiction and large print further along on the east wall. Here also are DVD's for all ages. Books for preschoolers are found in the yellow cart next to the large window; grade school, middle school, and high school youth books are also found on the shelves beside the large window. All items are grouped using the Dewey Decimal System, the same as in the Public Library; so finding something to enjoy is easy. An explanation of the Dewey System is posted in the church library in the center of the east wall shelves.

The Church Library is located near the Church Offices on the West side of the building. It is open whenever the church building is open. Materials may be checked out by signing your first and last name; and by putting the current date on the checkout cards found in the back of each item. Place these cards alphabetically by author's last name in the "Checked Out/Date Due" box located in the center of the library shelves. Materials may be checked out for a period of three weeks after which Returned Materials should be placed in the "Return Items" basket.

Donated materials are always welcome. Please put a "Donation Form" with any materials that are being donated. If you do not wish to fill out the form, just put a blank form with the material so that the staff will know that it is a donated item, and not a forgotten item that belongs to someone. Place donated items in the "Return Items" basket.
